Roche Harbor Resort
248 Reuben Memorial Drive
Friday Harbor, WA 98250
We had the honor to work at Roche Harbor Resort for the first time in 2016, let alone twice in back to back weekends in June and we are lucky to go back there in July for Jen + Cole's Wedding. We spoke with Allie McMillan from Roche Harbor about their venue here is what she had to say about this great destination wedding venue.
Roche Harbor Resort has been hosting weddings in the San Juan Islands for over 100 years. It’s genuinely charming, because it is rooted in a strong sense of place. If you are looking for an authentic Northwest experience like no other, you have found it!
We are pretty much a one stop venue to say I do…ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, rehearsal dinner and farewell brunch venues of your choice, all food and beverage cateringhanded by our incredible in-house culinary team, a courtesy room block of on-site accommodations with no financial responsibility for you all, in-house planning to assist with menu planning, vendor selections, timeline and layout creation, all catering equipment including all china, glassware, silverware, white linens, all staffing including chefs and managers to pull off a flawless event, we even help with activity and travel advice for you and your guests.
When you step out of your car and see your venue for the first time, make sure you get that feeling of “WOW, this is it!” Make sure you always feel that you are being listened to, communicated with and cared for. This is one of the most memorable events in your life, so be sure you choose a team to help you make this the best wedding you and all your guests have ever been to.
I think the weddings that are most memorable for me in my five years here, is when a bride tells me they grew up visiting Roche Harbor and used to watch the weddings in theSunken Garden and they would tell their mom’s “When I grow up, I am going to get married there someday.” Then they do and it’s just as magical as they dreamed. That is a truly great feeling.
Seems to me that 2017 will be about the natural bride. Lots of natural gorgeous lighting, greenery and soft tones. Vintage and rustic themes are still going strong and Roche Harbor fits perfectly within that idea. The romance of it all, the story…that’s what I try to remind my bride’s that it’s all about. Don’t lose site of the purpose for the party.
We’ll take care of a lot of the “heavy lifting” so planning and attending your wedding is a cinch: facilitating your guests’ experience, guiding you through the planning process, setting up all the catering needs and making sure we clean up too! If you want to host an immersive weekend with all your friends and family and not just a 5 hour reception, Roche Harbor Resort is absolutely the venue for you!
