Wedding Trend: Dessert

One thing I have been noticing is that people are starting to switch up their desserts at their weddings. Moving on from the traditional white cake, people are open to trying out something new. This can be anywhere from macaroons, cheesecake to pie. These decadent desserts can be displayed beautifully and still satisfy those who come to your big day! While saving money and straying from the traditional dessert, this will still satisfy those you invite to your wedding!

If you watched Gossip Girl like I did growing up, and love Blair Waldorf as much as I do too—then macaroons would definitely be a pleasant surprise and satisfying at a wedding!

The tiered cheesecake can turn out just beautifully!

Finding the perfect outfit to wear to a wedding!

The weather may not be the best indication, but spring is almost upon us! This means- the beginning of wedding season!!! However, wedding season can pose a few challenges, aka. the ‘I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR’ crisis.

I often find myself standing in front of my closet the night before a wedding, thinking ‘What time does Nordstrom close? or the classic “I’m just not going at all’ excuse.

In my opinion, the last thing I want to do at a wedding is stand out, whether that means being over dressed or looking like I just rolled out of bed. A wedding is a time for a bride to stand out, not a time for guests to debut the latest spring fashion trends. This certainly does not mean, you can’t dress to impress. But if your anything like me, sometimes it’s hard to even ‘dress’ at all. Does this dilemma sound familiar??

Have no fear wedding goers; I give you The Staple Wardrobe- the most essential thing I have learned in my 20’s (Sorry mom). By pairing together classic staple pieces, you can have multiple different outfits, for all occasions. This same theory can be applied to weddings! Invest in a few well-made dresses, skirts, shoes, and even rompers (touché to the girls who can actually pull off a romper), that you feel comfortable wearing to any formal or informal wedding.

Keep in mind, you want to avoid wearing the exact same outfit to every wedding, so be sure to also invest in some staples accessories as well, like a comfortable pair of heels, flats, and a blazer.

No need to keep buying a different outfit for each wedding! Because, lets face it, wouldn’t you rather choose to spend your money on wine, and pints of Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food?

Until next time!

Adding personal touches to highlight you as a couple!

Happy Thursday, Michelle here!

Are you planning for an upcoming wedding? What if I was to ask you how much of you is actually added to your big day? That may seem like a silly question, but I can assure you it's not. Sometimes it can be so easy to get lost in the elegance, beauty and trends that we forget to add the true substance behind our wedding, the love between your significant other and you! I mean this is an occasion to celebrate your special relationship with friends and family.

First thing is first when adding intimate touches to your wedding day. Consider what is significant in your relationship? First dates, foods, inside jokes, movies, anything that is special between the two of you. This is your love story, so let's tell it right!

You can add your own flavor in small simple ways,

Marrying a lover of poker? Or maybe for a destination wedding in Vegas?

Or maybe to your pictures,

Dinosaurs and super powers are always a fun addition!
