The weather may not be the best indication, but spring is almost upon us! This means- the beginning of wedding season!!! However, wedding season can pose a few challenges, aka. the ‘I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR’ crisis.
I often find myself standing in front of my closet the night before a wedding, thinking ‘What time does Nordstrom close? or the classic “I’m just not going at all’ excuse.
In my opinion, the last thing I want to do at a wedding is stand out, whether that means being over dressed or looking like I just rolled out of bed. A wedding is a time for a bride to stand out, not a time for guests to debut the latest spring fashion trends. This certainly does not mean, you can’t dress to impress. But if your anything like me, sometimes it’s hard to even ‘dress’ at all. Does this dilemma sound familiar??
Have no fear wedding goers; I give you The Staple Wardrobe- the most essential thing I have learned in my 20’s (Sorry mom). By pairing together classic staple pieces, you can have multiple different outfits, for all occasions. This same theory can be applied to weddings! Invest in a few well-made dresses, skirts, shoes, and even rompers (touché to the girls who can actually pull off a romper), that you feel comfortable wearing to any formal or informal wedding.
Keep in mind, you want to avoid wearing the exact same outfit to every wedding, so be sure to also invest in some staples accessories as well, like a comfortable pair of heels, flats, and a blazer.
W A Y F Skirt - $99
No need to keep buying a different outfit for each wedding! Because, lets face it, wouldn’t you rather choose to spend your money on wine, and pints of Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food?
Until next time!
