Well, 2021 that’s officially a wrap!
When the year started, we had no idea how this wedding season was going to look like! To be honest we were very worried if we were going to have any weddings at all. It felt like we were getting weekly if not daily updates from the governor’s offices about what weddings were going to look like then it varied by counties, which made it even tougher since we have weddings all over the state.
As a Seattle Wedding Planner, you had to be prepared for any and everything thrown our way, so the decision was made early on when the pandemic started, we were going to be totally honest and transparent with our couples about the rules and what their weddings were going to look like.
I hated being the bearer of bad news every time, but in the end, I know our clients appreciated our transparency and knew we had their best interest in mind when it came to their wedding visions, and I know that each and every client appreciated it.
We started off the year in April with an intimate brunch Seattle wedding on a hotel rooftop followed up by a 1st wedding anniversary celebration for an incredible couple. The next week saw us having two stunning weddings which had both been postponed from September.
Dealing with the insane heat that we saw in June and July was something for the record books. Making wedding magic when it was 113 degrees, I just look back and wonder how did we not melt that day. I’m grateful for my car’s amazing AC during our quick breaks to cool off and the venue’s misting machine for getting us through the 12-hour day.
We continued the season traveling up and down Puget Sound and then over to Walla Walla in August. Our season concluded in October at one of our favorite venues.
We loved working with all of our couples and vendors and made some great friendships that I know will last for many years to come!
I do have to add I had one special vendor I loved working with for the first time and I know it won’t be the last was my son Grant. He served as part of Oak + Fig Floral crew on a few weddings and did a great job. We even teamed up on one wedding and he loved that I was part of his team. I think we will be seeing a lot of Grant this summer as part of the set-up crew for Elegant Affairs.
Our season wouldn’t be what it was without our incredible team of Lisa and Ally. But I need to do a personal shoutout to Tiphany! She first came onto the team the summer of 2020 and I don’t know what I would have done without her in 2021. She has been my rock and is such a great addition to the team and she is now accepting her own weddings for 2022 and beyond!
Now, as we reflect on the year we take what we learned and excelled at and take those lessons and apply them to all of our 2022 weddings to make next year even better!
We cannot wait for 2022, so bring it!
Here are photos with a few of our 2021 couples. I always try to get photos at every wedding, but sometimes we just forget. Something we are going to work on for 2022!
