One thing I am absolutely obsessed with is wedding dresses that come in separates! This style of a wedding dress is sassy, cutting-edge, and it makes a statement that you are not afraid to take risks. This type of wedding dress is so new and slightly non-traditional, but I absolutely love it!

This past Saturday the Elegant Affairs team had our first brunch with all the new interns (including me!) and an idea was presented to me about a new wedding trend. Have you ever heard of an “Unplugged Wedding”? This was the first time I had heard about it. Since technology is so prevalent in every one’s lives these days people constantly Snapchat, tweet, post a picture or video to Instagram. With everyone’s phones attached to their hip it could potentially disturb your wedding. When people go to take their seats during the ceremony a sign is placed just before the seats that ask politely for the guests to put their phones away. If people have their phones up during the wedding it will ruin the intimate feelings while the couple exchanges their vows as well as ruining the professional photographer’s pictures. Here are a couple examples of how to make the signs as sweet and decorative as possible!
One thing I have been noticing is that people are starting to switch up their desserts at their weddings. Moving on from the traditional white cake, people are open to trying out something new. This can be anywhere from macaroons, cheesecake to pie. These decadent desserts can be displayed beautifully and still satisfy those who come to your big day! While saving money and straying from the traditional dessert, this will still satisfy those you invite to your wedding!
If you watched Gossip Girl like I did growing up, and love Blair Waldorf as much as I do too—then macaroons would definitely be a pleasant surprise and satisfying at a wedding!
