The common bar at a wedding is an expected focus to any reception. Add an unexpected bar for some extra fun at your wedding that your guests will be talking about for ages!
Be a Great Guest
Wedding etiquette rules don’t just apply to the bride and groom. There is a laundry list of dos and don’ts that you as a guest should follow. Here are 5 of the most important rules that guests should live by.
1. RSVP – Take the time to RSVP. This is the first and quite possibly most important rule. Do not show up unannounced and do not bring a guest if you did not RSVP for one.
2. Be On Time – Weddings are notorious for starting late but that doesn’t mean you should follow suit! Don’t be late, and as a bonus, the earlier you arrive, the better seat you will get for the ceremony.
3. Don’t Drink Too Much – The reception is a giant party that a lot of times includes free booze; and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love free booze? But don’t push your limits! Getting wasted in front of the bride and groom’s family and friends is not a good look!
4. Don’t Complain or be Disrespectful –We all like to complain every once in a while, it’s human nature. Just as it is human nature to have different tastes and cultural backgrounds. So save that talk for after the wedding. Do not be disrespectful, rude or offensive to the bride and groom who have invited you to share in their special day.
5. Have Fun – Weddings are fun! Enjoy yourself and celebrate this special occasion! The bride and groom want you at their wedding and they want you to enjoy yourself!
DIY Card Boxes
This week I found some grey DIY card basket ideas. This is a great way to give your guests a place to leave cards and make sure they stay organized and don’t get lost. The great thing about these, like any DIY project, is you have so many possibilities to customize it and make it unique. You can the perfect way to match it to your theme and colors and just add that extra touch to wow your guests.
The first thing you could do is to use small boxes cut and put together with a card slot. You can decorate the boxes in any color or patter with ribbon, lace, flowers, and bling.
If you are going for a more vintage vibe there are some great way to tie a card basket in. I love the use of an old bird cage. These might be a little harder to find but are so beautiful and delicate. I also love the use of an old suitcase that isa more vintage eccentric style.
Another unique one is a mailbox. For a more rustic style window I think this would be perfect. Add some burlap and lace or use some flowers and ribbon to great the perfect look for you.
Finally a simple idea is to just a use a basket. You can still decorate and make this unique to you. You can paint them or add some small touch for a simple classic feel.
Have a great week, and check back next Sunday!
