A mother and son have a very special relationship and one that is much different than that of a mother and daughter. To honor that special relationship and this important day in your son’s life, you need the perfect outfit! Follow these simple shopping tips to help you find the best, and most appropriate, mother of the groom dress!

Start Early: If timing allows, start shopping as early as six months before the wedding date. With that much time, you will be able to shop stress free and there will be plenty of time for ordering and/or alterations if needed.

Shop Around: Explore all of your options! Sometimes it’s best to start online and then go into the store once you have a few ideas. If you’ve given yourself enough time, you’ll be able to look at different stores with different styles to ensure you find the perfect dress.

Talk to the Mother of the Bride: If you have a close relationship with the bride’s mother you might consider swapping dress ideas before buying. It is traditional etiquette to let the mother of the bride buy her dress first, but that is not always necessary to follow. It is a good idea to talk at some point to make sure the two of you don’t show up in the same color, or worse, the same dress!

Treat Yourself: This is your son’s wedding, and hopefully the only one he will ever have! So splurge a little bit, this is a big day for you as well so having the perfect dress is an important factor.
